Chisme de Chef D
Darlyn Cardenas, known as Chef D, is an award-winning culinary pro who has spent the last 15 years working at some of Miami’s best restaurants.
Originally from Cuba, she began working in restaurants at the age of 18, including at the Madrid restaurant, in the tropical gardens of the famous Club Tropicana.
After she moved to the U.S., Cardenas co-owned A Slice of Heaven Bakery in Pinecrest from 2003-2010, where she gained her pastry skills and was written about in the Miami Herald and Pinecrest Tribune.
In 2009, Chef D earned her culinary degree from Le Cordon Bleu and went on to work at restaurants like BULLA Gastrobar and FINKA Table & Tap.
In 2017, she fulfilled her dream of starting her own catering company, Sofrito Catering.
